Tax-Exemption
Horizon City Church Inc. is a cooperating member church in good standing with the Florida State Baptist Convention (FSBC), as documented in this letter from the FSBC.

The FSBC is an organization designated by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a “central organization” under the group exemption protocols (Group Exemption #2024). This designation was determined August 11, 1969 and documented in this “Group Exemption Letter.”

The designation under IRS group exemption protocols has the same effect as an individual exemption letter, therefore, cooperating member churches in good standing with the FSBC, such as Horizon City Church, Inc., are not required to apply for tax-exemption status individually.

Under these protocols, Horizon City Church Inc. is fully eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with IRS Code section 170.

Governance
The determination that Horizon City Church, Inc. is eligible for tax-exempt contributions, under the group exemption protocols, does not impact in any way the long- standing tenets of Baptist polity of local church autonomy.
