Sports skills training plus Christ-centered teaching!

Horizon City Sports Camp is a co-ed faith-based sports skills training camp for kids Pre-K thru 5th grade. Participants will learn valuable foundational skills in these sports:

• Football
• Pickleball
• Basketball
• Baseball
• Volleyball
• Soccer
• Cheer

Each camp participant will be able to participate in three sports. We’ll also have a crafts activity option for kids who might prefer a low-key indoor activity.

In addition to sports training skills, there will also be VBS-style teaching focused on these topics:

• Christian virtue
• Worship
• Teamwork
• Leadership
• Integrity

This event will be like a sports skills camp and a high-energy VBS program, all in one. It’s going to be GREAT! All are welcome.

Registration fee includes full program, snacks, bottles of water, and a t-shirt for each participant.

Trainers & Leaders

Learn from an experienced team.

All camp adult teachers and leaders are Christian volunteers that have been trained and have gone through background checks. We take safety very seriously.

Several of our primary sports skills trainers are current high school athletes or previous college athletes. Most trainers have several years of experience training kids in various skills.

All Bible content will be led and taught by our Lead Pastor Kenny Ortiz, with the assistance of various volunteers from Horizon City Church.

Much of our content in based on Lifeway’s 2025 VBS curriculum called “Magnified!” and supplemented by content written by Pastor Kenny.

Who Are We

Horizon City Sports Camp is put on by Horizon City Church. We are a Bible-believing church in Winter Garden.

In the 1980s, a pastor named John Piper famously coined this phrase: “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.” We agree. This idea influences how our church functions. We want to help people find true satisfaction and happiness through faith in Jesus Christ.

Currently, Horizon City Church meets on Sundays for worship at SunRidge Elementary in Winter Garden. But we’re moving to Hamlin. Starting in August, we’ll begin meeting at the Cinépolis Movie Theater on Sunday mornings.
