We seek to be fully submitted to the commands and wisdom of Christ. We want our church to be ordered the way God intended for churches to be ordered.
We believe the elders of the local church are called to humbly lead the church and are responsible to help God’s people spiritually flourish.

Kenny Ortiz is originally from Philadelphia, PA. He’s been a pastor, college professor, and entrepreneur. Kenny planted Horizon City Church in fall 2024 along with his wife, Malaina, and a team from The Grove Church.
Before coming to Florida in 2023, Kenny was a pastor at Cities Church in St. Paul and a professor at Bethlehem College & Seminary in Minneapolis. He’s currently adjunct faculty for Wiberg Seminary. He blogs and podcasts at Theology for the Rest of Us.
Kenny and Malaina have three young kids. Malaina is originally from Houston. She was previously a missionary to France and then worked as a college recruiter for several years for two different schools in Minnesota.
